With Valentina: A Delicate Handwritten Font for Romantic Campaign Visuals

A Real Campaign Moment: Designing a Wedding Collection Teaser

While prepping a social media rollout for a bridal collection launch, I needed a font that felt intimate, elegant, and handwritten. The visuals were soft, pastel-toned, and romantic—so the typography had to match that mood. That’s when I reached for With Valentina, a script font that promised to bring a personal, hand-lettered charm to the design.

Right away, the font stood out. It’s soft, slightly bouncy, and has a gentle flow that mimics real handwriting. It’s not overly dramatic like some script fonts, which makes it feel more modern and wearable for a variety of romantic or feminine brand aesthetics.

Visual Style and Personality: Sweet, Delicate, and Approachable

With Valentina falls into the Script Amp category, but it’s not the kind of script you’d use for a luxury logo or dramatic editorial header. Instead, it’s best described as sweet, delicate, and emotionally expressive. The strokes are light, the curves are soft, and there’s a subtle variation in line weight that gives it a hand-drawn quality.

This makes it perfect for wedding invitations, valentine’s day cards, personalized thank-you notes, or any campaign that benefits from a warm, human touch. It’s the kind of font that says, “This was made just for you.”

Real-World Use: Instagram Posts, Pinterest Pins, and YouTube Thumbnails

In testing, I used With Valentina across a range of campaign visuals—Instagram stories, Pinterest pins, and YouTube thumbnails for a bridal collection launch. It worked beautifully in headlines and short quotes, especially when paired with a clean sans-serif for body text.

It’s not ideal for long-form text or small captions, but as a display font or decorative title, it brought a level of emotional resonance that more neutral fonts couldn’t match.

Readability and Digital Visibility: Best in Short, Bold Uses

On mobile screens, especially in fast-scrolling feeds, With Valentina needs to be used thoughtfully. Its delicate strokes can get lost on small previews or dark backgrounds. To maintain visibility:

  1. Use it for short headlines (5–7 words max).
  2. Opt for bold or slightly larger sizing to emphasize legibility.
  3. Avoid using it over busy or dark image backgrounds without a light overlay or stroke effect.

It’s also not ideal for email banners or digital ads with dense text. Instead, treat it as a supporting headline or brand label to guide the emotional tone of the piece.

Font Pairing: Clean Contrasts Work Best

Since With Valentina is a handwritten font, it pairs best with typefaces that offer a clean contrast. Try combining it with:

This helps maintain visual hierarchy while letting With Valentina shine as the emotional centerpiece of the design.

What to Check Before Using It in Campaigns

Before deploying With Valentina in client work or branded templates, make sure to:

These steps help avoid last-minute design issues and ensure the font works smoothly across platforms and mediums.

When Not to Use With Valentina

Despite its charm, With Valentina isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. Avoid using it in:

Instead, treat it as a premium font for emotional storytelling and decorative typography where the message is short, sweet, and meant to feel personal.
